My twenties have been full of exploration. As soon as I became a university student, free from the traditional path, my goal was to explore a lot, make mistakes, and experience everything I could!
I changed my major once, from Creative Writing to Chinese Literature and Language. I also double-majored, initially in Real Estate, and later switched to Game Interactive & Media. And later, as a post-graduate, I pursued an MSc in VR/AR.
During my first winter vacation at university, I grabbed a big backpack, about 600 pounds, and went backpacking in Southeast Asia with a friend. We travelled for a month through Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos. This sparked my love for exploring the world. I spent over six months in Australia on a working holiday, picking strawberries and working in a bread factory β an experience I hope to turn into content someday! I also studied in Taiwan, where I began to draw. If it weren't for the cockroaches, I'd love to live there forever; it's one of my favourite countries. I taught English in Cebu, Philippines, which taught me that teaching wasn't my thing. I've backpacked through many European countries and Japan, fueling my passion for travel.
Besides travelling, I've explored myself through various part-time jobs. Have you heard of a clapping and laughing part-time job for TV shows? I did multiple of those, participated as an extra actor, worked in a Korean fried chicken shop, TGI Fridays, assisted with auto-scripting for TV show writers, content marketing, video editing jobs, and more.
In 2020, I planned to travel the world, but the pandemic kept me in Korea. That's when I started my career as a content marketer, ironically at a travel agency. While I enjoyed the job, I couldnβt resist my passion for XR, which led me to the UK to study. Now, I work as an XR developer.
I still love to explore, experience new things, and present them through content using my technical skills. The world is full of inspiration, and I strive to create a spoonful of magic within it.
